Q: What is the meaning of USQ? How did you come up with this name? What stands behind it?
Untold Sequence: We chose ‘Untold Sequence’ because our purpose was something that the city haven’t met before, sounds that haven’t been told and the word sequence because our project is a succession of elements and sounds that are growing day by day.

He is the one who makes the posts when an USQMX is going to be released and also keeps the page and Untold Sequence blog organized and up to date.
Blotketch is the one that makes contacts in other countries like Argentina, Spain, Canada, and all around the world and invites people who make special mixes for us.

Q: Can you describe the night life in Colombia in general and in Medellin in particular?
Untold Sequence: Nightlife in Medellin is great. There are a lot of places you can go, also, the weather is lovely and you always see kind and beautiful people dancing and having lots of fun. There is also a big variety of music and clubs so you can choose where to go and it is guaranteed that you will have an amazing time.
Q: What are the main changes that have been happening in recent years in your city?
Untold Sequence: Medellin’s electronic scene has grown up a lot the last ten years. However, some promoters are constantly booking the same artists again and again, so it’s like a loop that never changes. As a result, the audience always gets to see the same Djs, which makes us wonder WHY and it is very frustrating for us.
Nonetheless, we are now friends with a new agency called “Formato Bajo Tierra” that is also making things for the electronic culture in Medellin like Untold Sequence. They already booked Jonas Koop and Ben Klock. In addition, they plan to bring some very nice artists in the future, so we think that’s a good point to start making changes and show people different artists to keep the scene always fresh.
Q: What are the main genres in your country?
Untold Sequence: In Colombia’s nightlife you can find a lot of musical genres. Re electronic music, the main genres are Techno, House, Tech House and Deep House. It’s very hard to find audience that listens to Dubstep, Experimental, Ambient or genres like that, but there are some places where you can listen to it and it’s very good for the electronic culture development.
Q: How do people accept your music and vision? Do you get any recognition from the people in your country or abroad?

Q: In your opinion, what are the advantages and disadvantages in the local scene?
Untold Sequence:
Advantages: Creating a group of people who appreciates and understands that music has character and ideals in order to help developing the electronic culture in the city.
Disadvantages: Having the same artists who have been coming 4 or 5 times to perform repeatedly. Becoming a Dj for the wrong reasons such as fashion, fame or girls.
Q: What is the government ’s attitude towards the clubbing scene?
Untold Sequence: In our city, clubs are open until 4 a.m. but outside the city we have parties until 8 a.m. and even 10 a.m. Most of the parties take place outside, because Medellin authorities are very strict with regard to permissions and license and sometimes they can cause troubles for a club.
Q: Do you feel that something new is happening right now with the music and the night life scene or is it just “back to the basics” loop?
Untold Sequence: It’s a combination of both. There is always a trend of getting back to basics and nowadays we are listening to a lot of old-school House and Techno that people love. There are also new purposes, new sounds and new concepts so we think there is always a balanced between that.

He also told us about his career and gave us some advices how to be a successful musician. Also with the times that we have played at bars and clubs when the people have had the opportunity to listen that we propose and they have said that they like a lot the music and the project.

Skcribled
“constant innovation and be able to compete with the most renowned Dj’s of the city. I’m not conformist, every time I want more!”
Short self-introduction?
Skcribled: ‘‘I got Into The Techno Music, because this music speaks to me, the rhythms change but the attitude will remain the same’’. Richard Hawtin
A small, but important sentence from one of the three artists that opened my mind to this incredible world of TECHNO. Along with Chris Liebing & Jochem George Paap (Speedy J), who delighted me with their fine beats like MINUS Orange (1999), The Real Schranz (1999) and Pull Over (1991) respectively.
My real name is “Andres Felipe Moreno Gil” aKa [ SKCRIBLED], I am 24 years old, at the moment loving to be a single person, a person who loves and enjoys the pleasures of the life like a travel, visit the cinema and to play some tracks of heavy metal. I’m studying piano, but this year I hope to start studying Sound Engineering and begin the real musician life style.
Besides spending my time on the decks, I work in a protocol company as a barman, making cocktails with drinks like: Jhonnie Walker, Smirnoff, Buchanan’s; something I really enjoy because I share with so many nice people and that’s the support to buy all my electronic gadgets, elements that make me increasingly addicted to technology.
I begin to penetrate in the local scene around 2003, studying the environment, meeting important artists who belong to labels like MINUS, SPECTRAL, CLR, ELECTRIC DELUXE, beside others, situation that takes me to create some years later UNTOLD SEQUENCE, with the hope to show the city different sounds and that way refresh the scene.
Q: There is a lot of different perception about being a DJ, what does it mean to you?
Skcribled: Currently with the constant technological evolution and the appearance of digital machines in the market, I quickly come to the affirmation that the essence of today’s dj is really different to the role of the artist who uses his ROLAND TR 909 like Jeff Mills, because if we analyze the evolutionary process of music form the beginning to what is now, we can find set ups totally digital like Chris Liebing, which can achieve the highest level of capacity with TRAKTOR SYNC ABLETON LIVE, and also watching top artists like Marcel Dettmann & Ben Klock surprising us with the immortal 12’’; situation that generates a final conclusion based in no matter the technological advances, the essential will always remain and the perception of the Dj contemporary vs vanguard simply goes along with a good working efficiency and a purpose to the world.
Q: How would you describe your music?
Skcribled: Techno is the Word!! I like to create full lines, dense atmospheres, strong kicks influenced by a basic groove that make my sets a combination between the dark/acid and the sexy.
Q: Could you briefly describe the music set-making process?
Skcribled: It’s very simple, I like to keep my libraries in traktor very organized and marked, where you can find playlists like: intros, outros, tools. An order that lets me know how to start, give form and finish my sessions, which often start with an ambient track and finish with a progressive melody. But I really like to reach the warm nights of Medellin with a clear idea of what I want to express, trying to fit the hour, space and crowd without losing my identity.
Q: If you can choose one colour to describe your music, which one would it be, and why?
Skcribled: Oops! (haha) It’s really complicated to give a color to my music style, because I have very dense and dark moments, and also very fresh and happy ones. I would dare to say BLACK, but with some variations of clear gray, always looking for uniformity with a little touch of house!
Q: What is your music background? And how has your music evolved since you first began playing music till today?
Skcribled: Good question!! I would say that my musical background is the strength of my evolution . Thanks to my father who influenced me when I was a child with the lines of Metal and Heavy Rock, knowing bands like BLACK SABBATH, METALLICA, MEGADETH, AMMO AMARTH, RAMMSTEIN, among other.
Starting a little ‘‘hard’’ in the beginning of 2003, with a BPM around 135, I went chasing my techno style. Passing thru quick times like in 2006 with the boom of the minimal from MINUS, then all the TECH HOUSE wave, which I really never liked, so I never fell in it, besides I was really getting into all the basic and analog sounds of OLD SCHOOL TECHNO, which led me to what I do in these days.
Q: What has been your biggest challenge as a band / Label / Producer / Dj and Have you been able to overcome that challenge?
Skcribled: As a band, teach our city the real essence of techno. we have achieved a small and quick acculturation, I thing we’re doing very well.
As a label, be able to give status to a mark and position it in the market. we’re not satisfied with the current achievements, but we feel very satisfied with our progress so far.
As a producer, in a future bring to the world something of my imagination.
As a Dj, constant innovation and be able to compete with the most renowned Dj’s of the city. I’m not conformist, every time I want more!
Q: What advice do you have for people who want to form their own label, to be a Dj or producer?
Skcribled: Create innovative and original ideas, act without desire and many respect and tolerance for the others.
Q: Is there any artist you want to work or play with?
Skcribled: Obviously, many, to be exact I would like to work with some artist from OSTGUT TON, PROLOGUE, MOTE EVOLVER, besides many more, because they have created a unique identity, besides having their names on the top of the techno market, a market where consumerism and mainstream are the main opponents.
Q: Favourite non-dance album of 2010?
Skcribled: The traveller –Shed –OSTGUT TON.
Q: Best “end-of-the-night” tune?
Skcribled: It all depends of the feeling you have that night, I love to close my nights with some progressive lines, tracks like: Tin Man – Nonneo (Donato Dozzy Remix), which allows me some peace and confidence and give that magic touch to the night!
Q: Any artist you will recommend to watch after in the future?
Skcribled: Yes! SPEEDY J & BEN KLOCK, their extended sets are beautiful.
Thanks for the invitation, I hope you can know more about who is SKRIBLED and above all the concept behind UNTOLD SEQUENCE!
